Harley Quinn, also known as Harleen Quinzel, is often remembered for her toxic relationship with another very well-known Batman villain. But even with her ex absent from the plot of Gotham Knights, she’s just as dangerous. Under the guise of Dr. Q, she’s been peddling illicit and dangerous products while appealing to people’s desire for hope and a better life. Her sham Wellness Scheme has attracted a shocking number of Gotham’s citizens, who willingly accepted the sinister implant she promised would improve their lives.

How To Beat Harley Quinn: Phase One

After reaching Harley’s boss arena at Gotham General Hospital, she’ll enter the fray wielding her signature hammer and the battle begins. Harley stays mobile by performing cartwheels to approach the player or dodge around the arena. Ranged attacks can be used to hit her mid-cartwheel to deal some damage while she’s repositioning, but players should be careful to not get too close to her while she cartwheels since she tends to transition into attacks right from the landing.

Harley can perform a quick forward thrust with her hammer right after her cartwheel, which can be interrupted by using piercing attacks or perfect evaded to set her up for a counterattack, but failing to dodge it allows her to grab the player for a powerful attack combo. Another dangerous attack opens with a hammer swing, then she jumps and slams down, before finishing with a spinning attack. Using a piercing attack at any point during her combo can interrupt it, while evading the final spin with good timing can allow for a perfect attack.

After Harley loses a third of her health, she’ll bring in backup in the form of her brainwashed devotees, and back out of the fight for a little while. After beating down the first wave of enemies, Harley will return with an electrified hammer and a second wave of enemies.

Her moveset doesn’t change much here, but she now inflicts electrical elemental buildup with her attacks, which can deal a ton of damage if it builds up all the way and leave the player momentarily stunned. Keep dodging carefully and using piercing attacks where possible, and she can be whittled down without too much trouble.

When she loses another third of her health, another cutscene will trigger. The player character steals Harley’s remote and breaks it, freeing her Devotees from the effects of the implant. Harley gets understandably pissed off by this, and phase 3 begins.

In this phase, Harley adds some dangerous new moves to her repertoire, including a devastating four-hit combo where she performs a series of spinning attacks that track the player and advance towards them, ending with a flying kick using her hammer to launch herself towards the player. Dodging this final hit can allow for a perfect attack and, like most of her attack combos, a piercing attack can interrupt her.

Harley also starts throwing out trios of explosives that will land in a row and detonate a short while later for a lot of damage. Players will need to stay out of the way of these to avoid taking massive damage. She’ll perform a backflip across the arena before doing this, which can be interrupted by a piercing attack with good timing. Keep hitting Harley whenever there’s a chance, and she’ll eventually get taken down, ending her reign of terror for now.

Gotham Knights is available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
