How to Get the Pacifist Achievement in Cuphead

When players complete a level in Cuphead, their various stats are totaled, giving them a letter grade in the classic A to F range.

However, players can also earn a “P” grade, which is indicative of Pacifist. In order for Cuphead players to earn the Pacifist Achievement/Trophy, they’ll need to earn a P rank on all Run ’n Gun levels in the game, which requires players to not fire at any enemies whatsoever.

There are six Run ’n Gun levels spread out across the first three Inkwell Isles of the base game, and players will need to earn a P rank on all of them to get the achievement.

While doing so is no easy task, many players will likely have the easiest time using the newly playable character Ms. Chalice. Armed with a set of unique moves, including a double jump, invincible roll, and automatic parry dash, Ms. Chalice is a more agile character than Cuphead and Mugman. However, there are some other options for players to boost their chances.

If players are determined to stick with a single character or aren’t fans of Ms. Chalice’s diminished jump height, they can always utilize some of Cuphead’s various Super Arts or charms.

While many of the Super Arts in the game are attack-based, others give players a much better shot at reaching the finish line. The third Super Art, Invincibility, makes players immune to damage for a short period of time.

Ms. Chalice also has an exclusive Super Art called Shield Pal, which acts like the Heart charm.

Equipping heart-related charms like the Double Heart and Heart Ring also gives players more HP to reach the end of Run ’n Gun levels. Once all six levels have been completed with a P rank, talk with the turtle sitting on the docks to unlock Cuphead’s secret game mode.

After speaking with the turtle, players will attain the Pacifist Achievement/Trophy and Cuphead’s vintage filters, which include things like a black-and-white mode and audio filters to transport themselves into the era that inspired the beloved game.

Cuphead is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
