YouTube user TheyCallMeConor has done so just recently, by creating a Grand Theft Auto 5 version of the popular “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets” segment from Jimmy Kimmel Live. In the video, characters such as Franklin, Trevor, Michael, and more read mean tweets sent to them, complete with a laugh track.
What’s impressive about the video is that TheyCallMeConor has managed to pull audio from the core GTA 5 game and splice it together in a way that sounds natural. Honestly, it could be believable that the video was a product of the GTA 5 voice actors recording more lines. Watch TheyCallMeConor’s amusing video below:

Hopefully fans of both Jimmy Kimmel and Grand Theft Auto 5 are able to get a kick out of the video. There’s something entertaining about watching people read mean tweets about themselves, though whether or not one finds the video funny, TheyCallMeConor’s work is still impressive.
Of course, TheyCallMeConor’s work isn’t the first time that fans have made a comedic video with Grand Theft Auto 5. The game’s popularity has resulted in numerous amusing videos hitting the web, such as one that sees a mashup of Grand Theft Auto 5 and The Powerpuff Girls and another that parodies Drake’s Hotline Bling. GTA 5 is the kind of game that is unlikely to wane in popularity for many years to come, so expect even more GTA 5 fan videos down the road.
Those that want to create their own Grand Theft Auto 5 videos don’t need to put in as much effort as people like TheyCallMeConor have. This is thanks to Rockstar Games releasing the Rockstar Editor for GTA 5, which allows players to record, edit, and share footage easily. It’s hard to say how popular Rockstar Editor has been at this point, but if it has been getting a decent amount of use, expect the feature to pop up in future games from Rockstar as well.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is currently available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
