The Sunken Body of GTA 5 is that of a dead woman that has been tied to cinder blocks before being dropped into the ocean of Los Santos in an apparent murder that is ignored by the game’s story. Grand Theft Auto 5 players can locate this Sunken Body off the shores of the Lago Zancudo swamps near Fort Zancudo, but after some modding and exploration, Reddit user Jige_Daisuke has discovered that it can be removed from the ocean to observe under a closer microscope. The Reddit user created a video to uncover their findings as a disturbing fact about the Sunken Body emerges when the presumed body became landlocked once again.

Jige_Daisuke’s Grand Theft Auto 5 clip begins with the player walking on the beach before using a mod to explore the map of Los Santos more easily, teleporting to the Sunken Body through an underwater locations menu. Facing the presumably dead NPC, Jige_Daisuke switches to a first-person camera view to select the Sunken Body and move it back on land to get a closer look at it, placing it on the aforementioned Lago Zancudo beach. The GTA 5 modder then teleports back to where they were before to look at the Sunken Body as they start shooting at it with a pistol, eliciting no reaction from the NPC until it is punched.
Upon hitting the Sunken Body while unarmed, the corpse in Jige_Daisuke’s video comes alive as it reacts by stumbling backward, and then walking away as if nothing happened. Beyond the disturbing fact that this mod shows that the Sunken Body is alive after all, the NPC seems unfazed by the cinder blocks on her foot or the burlap sack tied around her head as she walks around as many other GTA 5 NPCs would. The Grand Theft Auto 5 clip ends with the modder shooting at the revived NPC with a rocket launcher as it was about to return to the ocean that it previously called home.
Although it’s currently unclear who the Sunken Body of Grand Theft Auto 5 is, many Rockstar Games fans took to Jige_Daisuke’s Reddit post to voice their horror and disbelief in the revelations about this NPC. A couple of eagle-eyed GTA 5 players also noted that the NPC may have animated after being hit due to a bug like other Grand Theft Auto characters that had acted strangely based on the fact that it floats on the water at the end of Jige_Daisuke’s video
Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
